TO112 Is Cruelty-Free: A Bit About Leaping Bunny

TO112 leaping bunny cruelty free certified international logo

TO112 is proudly cruelty free and often promotes being Leaping Bunny certified - but what exactly does that mean? In short, the Leaping Bunny Program is a certification program that expects companies to prove that they and their suppliers do not conduct animal testing. Leaping Bunny performs independent audits to verify each claim.

The Leaping Bunny Program is the outcome of 8 different animal groups forming the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). CCIC recognized that there wasn't any clear standard for the claim of 'cruelty-free' and that  companies were purposely misleading their consumers. The CCIC started the Leaping Bunny Program which provides a comprehensive, internationally recognized standard that companies can obtain to certify themselves as cruelty-free. Currently, The  Leaping Bunny program is the only internationally recognized certification organization for cruelty-free brands.

It is important to be a compassionate and thoughtful shopper. Despite being the year 2017, the beauty industry is still considerably barbaric: many companies selling cosmetic products deliberately inflict pain and torture on defenceless animals. (Even if the brand themselves aren't testing on animals, their suppliers are). Animal testing is NOT necessary for safety.

While everyday consumers may not feel as if they have a lot of power to encourage change, they do. The term 'dollar voting' applies here: support brands that are cruelty free by buying from them, and stop buying from brands that don't. Leaping Bunny's website is a great tool - they even have an app!

#compassion and #protection for Animals. Always.
