How to get beachy waves without the beach

How to get beachy waves without the beach

Beachy waves give off a carefree, effortless vibe that we are here for! Unlike sleek styles, beach waves don't require perfection to look good. They often look better with slightly lived-in hair - which we love because it reduces the need for frequent washing and styling. Which we love!

This style embraces a natural look and texture that works for medium to long hair lengths (think chin bob to Rapunzel) and most hair types. Super curly and kinky textures (like 3C to 4C curls) will find this the most challenging look to achieve because those curls will need to be pulled out and lengthened using hot tools. The key to achieving this relaxed look is a few simple steps in the wet hair prep. Give this summer vibes look a try!

Beachy Waves Best Product Combo (and how to use them):

The first step is taking a dime-sized amount of the Ultimate Hair Cream. Adding more as needed, and apply in layers to thicker more unruly hair. Rub the cream in your hands and apply evenly from mid-length to ends. Follow with combing through the hair to ensure even distribution.

The next step is applying the Sea Salt Serum on damp hair. Don’t be shy, this product performs well with excess! Really coat your hair from root to tip, scrunching and twisting strands to enhance texture. Remember to shake well before applying. This is where natural curl patterns need to be addressed for the 3C and above curl types. Pull through the curl and twist strands to lengthen out the curl and use a hair dryer on low if you need a little extra resistance to tighter curls. Alternatively, when your hair has fully dried take random sections around the crown and use a large barrel curling iron, or even a flat iron, to great some loose curls and waves.

PRO TIP: Flip head over and spray throughout for the most even distribution and scrunch up to the crown while it air dries. Also works with a diffuser if you have finer hair or you’re just short on time!

The next and final step is all about the extra umph. Apply a Dry Texture Spray to dry hair in short bursts. Spray from roots to ends pulling through the curls and zhuzhing at the root. Layer as needed.

All products and application methods are used to add moisture, reduce frizz and enhance natural hair texture. They help define natural waves without making the hair stiff or crunchy! This is a fun one to experiment with!
